Obama – Again
Photographer David Bergman compiled a nearly 1.5 gigapixel panoramic shot of President Barack Obama’s inauguration, and zooming in to check out the incredible level of detail is–and we don’t say things like this lightly–almost as instantly captivating as Google Earth.
Composed of 220 images, Bergman’s finished panorama is 59,783 X 24,658, or 1,474 megapixels. He used a Canon G10 mounted on a Gigapan Epic to take the shots in a grid pattern. According to Bergman’s blog, the final TIFF file is 2 gigabytes and in pouring over it he found cellist Yo Yo Ma taking a picture on his iPhone.
