Wedding Photography Blairgowrie, The Altamount Hotel. Gail and Kevin
We carry on from the Brides room to find Kevin looking very relaxed with life.
While it wasn’t a bad day, it was very cold so I didn’t feel it fair to keep dragging people outside for photographs. Except Kevin of course:-)
Kevin was so happy that day, it’s great to see people on top of the world
And then the Service started, it was a short Registry Office service.
Then we organised a group shot of everyone, normally I’d do this shot outside from an upstairs window to get some height. It was just too dark and cold, we were almost at the winter solstice and it was freezing cold. So, we had to shoot it inside, thankfully it was a smallish Wedding so we could get everyone on the stairs but lighting that sort of arrangement is difficult. I hate (HATE HATE HATE) direct on camera flash so using a softbox I was able to get the bulk of the people lit and I filled in the people at the back with a speedlight shot through a brolly clipped to the top of the stairs. Took a bit of time but no one is in shadow.
Gail and Kevin were keen to take advantage of she snow and the latew afternoon sun for some outside shots, we were literally wading through snow to get past the car park. I hope it was worth it, the shot below is one of my favourites, I love these spectral highlights – the little dots of light where the sun comes through the trees.
More spectral highlights, I was in a “spectral highlight” kind of mood
Another of my favourites to finish with.
