Doug and Katy – Monachyle Mhor, Wedding Photography Scotland
It was fabulous to be back at Monachyle Mhor last week for the Marriage of Doug and Katy. Monachyle is one of my favourite locations and it is also a favourite location for Susan and I to have a weekend away, unfortunately they come along too rarely! I seem to get a few wedding bookings here, no idea why but I am very happy to take them as when the sun is shining it can be the most fabulous location, even on bad days the sky can be really dramatic and the rooms here are great for Photography.
Doug and Katy had put photography at the top of their list of priorities which is always great news, lots of time was available and they were willing to try some of my odd ideas!
The actual marriage was in Balquhidder Church just down the road but as usual I started in the girls room where the conversation was “interesting” !
There was a bit of devastation in the room but the sandwiches looked good.
Katys friend was helping her with make up and general dogs body stuff
I found Doug and persuaded him to get dressed for a photograph
I headed off to the Church and caught a few other photographs.
The Minister here does not allow Photography in the Church so I had to wait until the Register Signing before I could take any, thankfully the weather was fantastic so that was ok.
There is a nice old ruin at the Church which I try to use every time I am here.
Doug and Katy were easy to work with, very relaxed and smiley.
We stopped by the loch for a few shots, it is such a lovely location here.
Back at the Hotel Champagne was being served then we got on with the group photographs they had asked for. After that we spent a little more time on photography with their lovely little Border Collie Puppy called Rosie, she was just adorable!
Doug and Katy, you were a real pleasure to work with, thank you for asking me to be your Photographer and for making Photography such a priority on your big day. I hope you are having a ball in South Africa and that you are as pleased with the photographs as I am .
