Wedding Photography – great feedback

Sarah and Dale sent this lovely email today:

Hi Angus,
Hope you're keeping well.
I just wanted to say thank you for your hard work on our wedding day, everything ran so smoothly and our photographs look perfect.  Dale and I are both so grateful. Sorry we've not been in touch sooner but it's been quite hard adjusting to everyday life after being away and it's taking me a while to get round to doing things! We've not yet sat down and chosen which photos we want for the DVD and album but will hopefully get round to it once we've settled into the new house. Just wanted to let you know that we've not forgotten about it.
Hopefully be in touch soon.

General Stuff

It’s been a really busy period the last week or so which is great. Thursday I was in Dundee then Piperdam for James and Helens Wedding, Yesterday I was at Forbes of Kingennie for Richard and Claires Wedding. I’m not able to show you any photographs of that day as Richard is in the Forces and under the current climate they are all worried about security. It’s a pity as at first glance the pics are great.

Today I am just leaving for the Taychreggan Hotel near Oban for Michael and Diannes Wedding, it’s  a small affair with only 8 guests and I really hope the weather holds for them.

On the commercial side it has been really busy too with a whole host of jobs going on from simple business portraiture for a magazine, covering a horse riding event, advertising shots for a hotel advert and shooting tractors for a new website. Also lots of new jobs and clients booked in for the next month, they include a large shoot for a new website for a college, shooting ladies shoes, a development plan for a large Scottish town, covering a charity fishing event, and some landscape work to support a housing development brochure.

More pics when I get back from down south next week.

BPRC Event Balbeggie

2 people have contacted me to ask where they can see the pictures of the above event. The actual address is www.angusforbes.co.uk

This is a separate address for my event photography, it is a new site and as such Google have not indexed it yet so it wont show up in search engines. I had assumed (wrongly) that people would type the address into the bar at the top of the page where the www .. starts, it seems many people don't do that.

I’ll be talking to my web site designer about a longer term fix for this but in the meantime either click the link above or type the full address into the address bar at the top of your screen.

Many thanks

Angus

Wedding Photography – Arbroath

Sarah and Steven were married at St Vigeans Church Arbroath then on to the Invercarse for their meal. Steven hated being photographed, totally hated it so it was a difficult Wedding. He tried hard but he was not comfortable at all. Sarah on the other hand was very happy and also very photogenic which was a bonus.

None the less, a good day – nice weather  a lovely couple and great shots, just not as many as I’d like to take normally!

Sarah and Dale – Wedding Photography Edzell

A week past Saturday I found myself in Forfar, Coliston (Arbroath) and then Edzell for the Wedding of Dale and Sarah, regular readers may remember that when I went to meet Dale and Sarah about their Wedding, Sarahs Mum was very hospitable – well that has not changed. I started off at their house where Bridal preparations were well under way and still she was more worried that I had something to eat than get her self sorted out.

Dale had sent Sarah a bunch of lovely flowers in the morning, such a nice guy. I headed off to the Church to await his arrival, after I had persuaded Sarahs Mother I didn;t need a packed lunch

As usual he was a little nervous but there was a lot going on and lots of people coming along to say hello.

Sarah and her Dad arrived

Then the service started.

Sarah was looking Stunning, this Church has lovely large windows and the sun was just coming out which created nice side lighting.

We headed off to a river near Edzell which was in spate after the rain but Sarah and Dale wanted pictures here, after a pretty steep climb down we got to the bottom without injury.

Then it was back to the Glenesk Hotel where we had a little time left for a couple of shots indoors then it was dinner and speeches!

Thanks to Gordon and his staff at Glenesk Hotel, they were very efficient and professional, having never been to a Wedding here before I was a little worried but that was unfounded as they were great.

The real thanks have to go to Dale and Sarah for choosing me as their photographer and for putting photography near the top of their priorities. Have a great honeymoon and I look forward to seeing you when you get back.

Pre Wedding Photo Shoot

Last Monday I was back in Arbroath (Getting to know Arbroath well!) for a shoot with Fiona and David as well as their lovely dog Aussie. We met at St Vigeans Church then had a walk along the paths by the river then back to the Church for an hour. It was a great day, a lovely couple and Aussie was just great, still at that puppy stage but old enough to be well (ish) behaved.

Wedding Photography – Great Feedback

I got home to find this email from Doug and Katy who are just back from Honeymoon.

Hello Angus,

Well, we're back to earth with a bump after a fantastic honeymoon. We collected our photo's from the post office yesterday and I thought I'd drop you a line to let you know we love them! We like the fact that everyone looks so natural and relaxed. We were really happy with the way you got in amongst the action on the day without upsetting anyone, indeed several people commented on how friendly, considerate and professional you were. I'm not a fan of having my photograph taken and the fact you managed to get me to pose and smile so often is also testament to your skills!

We had such a good day. The Mhor staff were phenomenal - dinner was fantastic with emotional speeches, then a surprise firework display at night. The following morning (another beautiful day) I'd organised a seaplane to come and collect us then fly us back to Edinburgh - it was a complete surprise to Katy and everyone came down to the lochside to wave us off. It was great to see everyone so happy!

Now we're home from honeymoon I'm wrestling with Picasa (the first time I've used it) which has automatically adjusted lots of my RAW files from the honeymoon, including changing many of my B&W shots to colour!!

Anyway, thank you again Angus for fantastic memories of our special day and your personal and professional service from start to finish.

Best wishes,

Doug and Katy
