Wedding Photography Scotland – Matt and Rachel – Glamis Church – The Church and Service

So, Caroline and I shot over to Glamis for the service, the Church is great, quaint little Church with loads of natural light, even the sun was out.

We found Matt who was surprisingly calm.

The bridesmaids arrived – aren't they stunning!

Then Rachel and her Father arrived

I think he may have spotted her at this point
200310-118 He certainly has now

Earlier in the service, Rachel and Matts Mothers had lit candles at the front of the Church, this is Matt and Rachel combining them together as one flame

These standing stones are in the garden of the house that Rachel grew up in so they have special memories for her. I was so pleased that the sun was out and we even had a whisper of blue sky.200310-272 We drove round to Glamis Castle and took a couple of shots there, it’s amazing how difficult it is to get a clear drive here, even before the castle has opened. I had to remove at least 1 car in Photoshop200310-278200310-280
The Alvis was provided by a friend of Rachels Father, it was in beautiful condition and absolutely sparkling.

All things being equal, tomorrow I’ll have some of the couple shots ready to post

Wedding Photography Scotland – Matt and Rachel – Glamis Church – Rachel getting ready

After we had left Matt and his family we headed over to Rachels family home outside Brechin to capture a couple of shots of her getting ready.

Rachels bouquet was really beautiful

And so was Rachel

I really liked the wood pile (as you’ll see later) and Rachels Dad had made a point of keeping it well stocked for me.

Wedding Photography Scotland – Matt and Rachel – Glamis Church

I just knew that this would be a great Wedding, despite only meeting Matt and Rachel twice I had a  feeling that we would all get along really well. They are  a lovely couple, they live in London but Rachel grew up in Glamis and Mat comes from Ireland. Not only did I just know that we;’d get along I also knew that Rachel would look stunning on the day and be really easy to photograph.

Rachels Father was the Minister in Glamis and Rachel grew up in the Manse there. Her parents now live near Brechin and her Father is a Minister in a Parish in Dundee. However, Glamis holds very special memories for her so the service was conducted by her Father in Glamis Church – and what a Church, bright and airy, makes my job much easier.

Caroline came along to help me for the day so we headed off to a luxury holiday home near Edzell where Matt and his family were staying for the week. Matt is an conference organiser and likes timetables, his brother told me that the timetable was out the window before it started as Matt had disappeared to drop off his bag and we were already late.

Matts Mum gave us a guided tour of the house – she even offered us some porridge

 200310-019
There was a little confusion over the tie

200310-022 Dad came to the rescue

200310-030

We started with the boys and a walk round the garden
200310-031 Matt was looking quite relaxed here so we wandered round the house and took a few shots of him in different locations, this one is probably my favourite.

200310-320 Then it was a quick shot of Matt with his parents before we headed off to find Rachel and get shots of her getting ready.

And now to the Speeches and dancing. It was a great night with music provided by Crowded Croft – a brilliant Ceilidh band from the West Coast, they got the floor full from the start. Have a look at the website, in particular the FAQ section, the bit about James Blunt had me laughing out loud.
