Angela and Tony – Newcastle. Scottish Wedding Photography

When I was booked for Tony and Angelas Wedding earlier in the year, the weather never entered my mind. I was pondering this as I drove down to Newcastle yesterday as the news reports kept talking about heavy snow for the North East of England. I had only met Angela once and Tony twice but I knew that it would be a Wedding to remember, Angela looked stunning (and Tony scrubbed up alright too!). The service was in the Civic Centre which is the registry office then it was out to the Caledonian Hotel in Jesmond. Angela is Scottish so it was appropriate that she chose the Caledonian Hotel, had a piper and a Scottish Photographer.

I was early so I went to the hotel to have a look round and get the feel of the place. Thankfully the hotel staff were way ahead of the schedule and the room was almost finished so I was able to shoot off some frames of the room, I knew the schedule in the afternoon was going to be incredibly tight so this saved me a good 20 minutes.

The room looked stunning, the hotel staff had done a great job of it.

191209-014 Angela and Tony had chosen a cup cake – cake with a traditional top to it for cutting.

Angela in particular was very keen on the Christmas wintery feel and the tree in the room was lovely.

191209-057 I took a cab to the Civic Centre and waited on Tony to arrive, and bang on time he appeared – told you, scrubbed up well.

Waiting patiently on Angela to arrive.

191209-076 And arrive she did, looking stunning as I expected.

191209-077 The bridesmaids were just behind, also stunning but looking a tad cold girls!

191209-107 The service was nice, conducted by 2 registrars. Different to Scotland in a few ways.

191209-130 After the Service, the paparazzi were allowed in.

We headed outside for a few group shots, Angela really wanted to do some in the snow but after a couple we realised it was just too cold and too dark so we sent the guests back to the hotel and we headed off for a few “couple” shots.

Not far away we had spotted a lovely tree so with a little help from the Bridesmaid and the Ugg boots we wandered over.

Then it was down to the Quay Side where I had a feeling the sky might just give us that blue purple that you get around sunset. I was right but unfortunately the rain just started and got pretty heavy pretty quickly.

191209-218 So, it was back to the hotel where we did some group shots then a few more couple shots before it was time for me to think about leaving for the journey north in the snow.

Angela and Tony, I thoroughly enjoyed working with you yesterday and I hope you had  a great night. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
